Here at Phosphenes of London we create ethically made high end pieces in our studio. Over the past few years we have made a conscious effort to minimising our waste as much as possible- for both the sake of our clients & the environment. We do this through cutting fabrics as efficiently as possible, reusing any scrap paper during the process to recycling & repurposing all of our waste.
WAYS IN WHICH WE REPURPOSE OUR WASTE
Donating scrap paper from the cutting process to local businesses to be used in packaging
Using threads & small scraps of fabric to make cushion fillings
Working & encouraging our clients to create accessories/ small product ideas out of scrap fabric
Making doll outfits to dress dolls with are otherwise unsellable in charity shops
We also use biodegradable garment bags
